The Story…
How it all began!
While viewing a sports page…
Founder and President of New Ground Technology Pete Davis noticed dramatic light and dark mowing stripes on a sports field. Research revealed groundskeepers attempts at producing cryptic graphics using laborious and time intensive hand tools. With his background in ultra-precision machine design and micro-lithography (circuit printing) he thought;
“Bending millions of reflectors with a intelligent, air powered machine to efficient deliver light and dark pixels onto a field without limitations of detail or size!“
Fast forward eight years…
and two, U.S. patents and 2 international patents later and the TurfPrinter is now transforming fields around the world.
Pete’s original idea for the TurfPrinter took thousands of hours of engineering, testing, graphics interpolation and market vetting before it was debuted on the San Francisco Giants field for opening day in 2016. Since that time highly refined TurfPrintAIR systems would be coupled to robust, turf friendly chassis. This evolved technology produces high-definition imagery with better command over tough turf like Bermuda blends.
