How AIR makes imagery in turf
Our AIR printing system relies on a gentle stream of air to precisely bend small “pixels” of grass. Minimal layout and groundskeeper interference are realized. 2 simple points, commercial, laser or GPS technology delivers repeatable, centimeter positioning.
Ideal conditions for high contrast graphics are qualified by the presence of existing mowing stripes. Basically, any field surface that can be striped will accept printing and deliver brilliant results. Uniform (stadium) lighting, used during night games can degrade contrast, again observe your mowing stripes.
The result is fast, grass friendly detail with daily or weekly re-print capability. Weather concerns are no problem, the printing process and desirable contrast are enhanced with reasonable precipitation.

The system prints at a rate of approximately 1 square meters per second. Large, 30 x 30 meter graphics are printed in about 15 minutes. A second pass can be swiftly exicuted for added contrast and extended duration. Examples shown in our project gallery only require a couple of on-field hours and are immediately playable or erasable. Playability and ball-roll is no different than traditional mowing patterns.
Graphics are surprisingly durable as the printing “lay” is further embossed by compressive foot traffic. Hill sides offer premiere opportunities so our low center of gravity equipment is designed and capable of 25 degree slopes. Removing the graphic can be accomplished by mowing.
